A lot of people wonder if ragdoll cats are hypoallergenic. The answer is yes and no. Ragdolls shed a little less than other cats and do not produce as much dander, which is the major cause for allergies in some individuals. However, it can't be said that they're hypoallergenic because there is no such thing as a cat that truly is. Ragdolls just happen to be more tolerable than some breeds/types of cats, such as Siamese or Cornish Rexes. If you have an allergy and you want to own a cat, it’s recommended to find out about your specific allergies before buying one.
