It's hard to find a cat that is perfect for allergy sufferers. The good news is that Bombay cats shed less than other breeds due to their shorter coat (which also means less dander). Bombay cats are generally considered to be hypoallergenic because they produce fewer allergens than other breeds of cat. They produce less of the protein FelD1 than other breeds, which means they're less likely to trigger an allergic reaction in humans. So if you're allergic, this might be the best option for you. However, if you're not sure whether your allergies are caused by cat dander or just any allergies, it's best to visit your allergist before adopting any cats.
